Position on PAWS

The PVIWC Board of Directors opposes the PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Statute) legislation [federal legislation "to amend the Animal Welfare Act to strengthen the ability of the Secretary of Agriculture to regulate the pet industry," see S 1139, HR 2669]. The PVIWC Board encourages Club Members to write their federal legislators:

2000 Specialty Show

PVIWC was in the news in April, 2000 when we held our Specialty Show. A reporter from the Baltimore Sun wrote a lovely article about the show, concentrating on the obedience trial. Many thanks to Dani Duniho for her excellent work on publicity for that year's show! The article is currently available online at http://www.sunspot.net. Search for Irish Wolfhound (article was dated April 3, 2000). Unfortunately since the article is in the archives they will charge you $1.95 to see it.
